About ViraCor Laboratories
ViraCor Laboratories is a clinical molecular diagnostic and research laboratory dedicated to detecting and monitoring infections in the immunocompromised patient population, which includes transplant patients, autoimmune disease patients, preterm infants, HIV patients, and cancer patients. ViraCor was the first, and remains the only, molecular diagnostic testing laboratory in the United States devoted to serving immunocompromised patients. Our expertise is in infectious diseases critical to immunocompromised and transplant patients over their lifetime, including viruses, protozoa, and fungi. In addition, we extensively study the immune function of patients at risk for serious infection from these pathogens. Our commitment to the immunocompromised patient population permeates all aspects of our business and has set a new standard for the role of laboratory diagnostics in the management of these highly specialized and diverse patients.
Since ViraCor began in 2000, we have partnered with over 160 transplant programs and are currently working with over two-thirds of the pediatric transplant hospitals in the United States, a rewarding rate of growth. ViraCor set the benchmark for the diagnostic industry by turning patient results around in 24 hours or less. Traditionally, lab results had a turnaround time of anywhere from 3 days to several weeks, depending upon the method. We know that fast, clinically meaningful results are critical to patient outcomes, especially immunocompromised patients. From our company's inception, we have delivered results with superior accuracy as fast as possible, which is often in far less time than our 24 hour guarantee. ViraCor also developed the first commercially available real-time quantitative PCR test for adenovirus, BK virus, and JC virus, among others. Collaborative partnerships with prestigious academic institutions have led to many impactful studies, serving to progress scientific knowledge of infectious diseases in transplant patients and continual improvement in available diagnostics.
Our entrepreneurial spirit has fueled ViraCor's growth. We recently expanded into the pharmaceutical clinical trial testing market, creating global opportunities to share our innovative approach to diagnostics.
